Where to Stay in Seattle with Kids: Spacious Industrial Loft

  1. Spacious Industrial Loft is a perfectly curated studio near the international district of Seattle, Washington. This vacation rental starts around $130 per night and sleeps up to six guests.
  2. Why stay at Spacious Industrial Loft? This spot was so successful with its child-friendly design and offerings that our keiki were eager to return to it every single day we spent out and about. We had dance parties and bike races around the dining table. We built full on cities with the duplo blocks and had reading marathons with the seemingly endless collection of children’s books. Last but not least, we took afternoon walks with the resident wagon.
  3. What is the parking situation like? We walked everywhere and used an occasional Lyft, however there is free street parking throughout the neighborhood.
  4. What is the indoor layout like? When you walk through the front door you are greeted by a beautiful giant dining table (seats up to 8). To the left of it there is a small sitting area. Right behind it is the kitchen island complete with bar stools (seats up to 6) and a nicely stocked kitchen. Next to this is a small living room area with a television, pull-out couch, loaded bookshelf, plus a giant chest that doubles as a coffee table and duplo blocks storage. Behind this area is a king sized bed and to the right of that is a full-size bunk bed that hovers above a crib and toy area. Finally, the bathroom is next door to this, complete with a claw foot tub for epic bubble baths. Note that this is a loft or studio space so it’s one continuous room except for the bathroom which is separate of course.
  5. What is the outdoor space like? The loft is on the ground floor and while there’s no yard or anything, the street it’s on is lovely and fairly quiet for city living. The boys loved riding bikes and taking walks up and down the street–they were intrigued by the aerial yoga studio next door as well as several other artsy spaces nearby.
  6. Tell me about the amenities. Standard amenities include: full kitchen stocked with more than the basics, television with Roku, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, and wifi. Bonus amenities include: adult bicycles, keiki tricycle, rocking horse, TONS of amazing keiki books/toys, and even a large wagon!
  7. What’s within a 10-minute walk? A variety of eateries, a park, a dry cleaner, a Goodwill, and even a dispensary.
  8. What’s within a 10-minute drive? Pike Place Market, Capitol Hill, and most of downtown Seattle (depending on traffic).
  9. Insider advice: Seattle is home to some delicious ice cream shops. Two of our favorites were within a ten-minute drive from the loft: Shugs Soda Fountain & Ice Cream next to Pike Place Market and Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream on Capitol Hill.
  10. Fun fact: We were able to walk to the heart of downtown in about 30 minutes, our four and six year old had no trouble walking to Pike Place Market and then some. Along the way they counted the dragons wrapped around the street lamps and happily explored the city’s various outdoor parks and play spaces.
