3 Things You Need For Your Family Beach Day

When we are headed to the beach these are the three things we bring every single time, in addition to snacks and water of course!

Neso Tent Outdoor Sun Shade Easy to carry. Easy to set up. Easy to take down. What more could we ask for? This shade system is so light our keiki can carry it plus they love to help raise it. The five minute set-up process looks like this: fill the four bags with sand, pull the bags back to stretch the fabric out, then place the poles under the fabric. This tent can provide more shade than an umbrella and can compact down to the size of a yoga mat. Better yet, it’s UPF 50+ and water-resistant. Use the code MAHALO for $10 off your order!

California Baby Sunscreen These mineral sunscreens block sun rays by creating a physical barrier instead of being absorbed into the skin like chemical sunscreens. They are also free of gluten, soy, oats, dairy and nuts (except coconut). Melibea has used their “Super Sensitive” sunscreen since she was a couple weeks old. The rest of us use the “Everyday/Year-Round” sunscreen. All of their sunscreens are SPF 30+ and reef-friendly! A little bit goes a long way so apply dot by dot, then rub them in. Be sure to check out their “After Sun” products as well.

Hoa Kai Turkish Towels Fast drying towels perfect for the beach, the yoga studio, and beyond. When I use one to towel off at the beach with I’ll hang it on top of the Neso Tent pole and it’ll be dry by the time I need it again. But honestly, you could use one for so much more than drying off–it could become a pareo, a hair wrap, or even a makeshift rucksack. These towels pack small and come in a variety of fun colors and patterns. The boys even use them as capes, magic carpets, and fort materials.
