Where to Stay on Kauai: Lanini Kai

  1. Lanini Kai is a centrally located 4BR/2BA house in Hanalei, on the North Shore of Kaua’i. This spacious home averages $485-$570 per night and can accommodate up to eight people.
  2. Why stay at Lanini Kai? Location, location, location. This vacation rental is one block away from Hanalei Bay. It took us less than five minutes to reach the sand from the house, even with three keiki! To add to the convenience, this home is a also a short walk from Hanalei Town with all of its eateries and shops. We easily (and happily) walked to every meal, every single day of our staycation.
  3. What is the parking situation like? The house has its own private driveway with a covered carport.
  4. What is the indoor layout like? Upon walking through the front door you are greeted with the bright and airy living room, complete with high ceilings. The open floor plan then leads into the dining room and kitchen before attaching to the master bedroom and bathroom. The latter features a king sized bed. Upstairs you’ll find three additional bedrooms with one bed each–king, queen, and double–plus one bathroom with a bathtub.
  5. What is the outdoor space like? There’s a grassy yard out front perfect for lawn games and tag. The master bedroom is attached to a nicely shaded, private patio area. There’s also a giant lanai overlooking the lawn with one table and plenty of seating. And again, Hanalei Bay and all of its beaches are practically an extension of the yard as well.
  6. Tell me about the amenities. Standard amenities include: full kitchen stocked with the basics, dishwasher, gas BBQ, ceiling fans, washer/dryer, cable tv, wifi, beach supplies (towels, cooler, chairs, boogie boards, toys, etc.). The keiki also loved that there were books for them to read and games for them to play.
  7. What’s within a 10-minute walk? Hanalei town! We loved picking up breakfast at Hanalei Bread Co., lunch at Fresh Bite, and dinner all around town. Our afternoon donut runs to Holey Grail Donuts were also an incredible perk. And in case you forgot…Hanalei Bay is just a few minutes walk away!
  8. What’s within a 10-minute drive? Princeville, Okolehao Trail, and Lumahai Beach.
  9. Insider advice: If you’ve wondered what North Shore life is all about then this is the vacation rental for you. We highly recommend bringing or renting bikes! And if you can swing it, stay for a minimum of five to seven days for the full North Shore experience.
  10. Fun fact: Princeville along with Waves Yoga and Anini Beach are less than 15 minutes South of you while Ha’ena with Tunnels Beach, Limahuli Garden, and the Kalalau Trail are around 15 minutes to the North.
