Travel Tips: Three Golden Rules for Family Travel

Now that 1/3 of our European adventure is officially complete, here's a review of what's been helpful on this first big trip as a family of six!

1. Repeat to self: don't expect to do it all.

There was so much to see and do in a city like Barcelona but we stuck to one priority attraction a day plus an optional bonus one if time allowed.

2. Organize your days around three family-driven missions.

Our daily missions for Barcelona were to experience Gaudi's work, to explore a new playground, and to find the most delicious ice cream.

3. Speaking of food--to save money (and sanity) we mostly ate breakfast and dinner at home. This way, our days could begin and end with familiar routines.
