Travel Tips: How To Make Flying With Children Easier

These tips are based on several years of consistent family travel but were especially helpful on our recent voyage from Kaua'i to Barcelona with four children in tow! Flight 1 LIH>SFO 5 hours Flight 2 SFO>EWR 6 hours Flight 3 EWR>BCN 7 hours

Schedule flights around sleeping schedules. We called these our "sleeping flights" and our keiki  indeed slept for nearly all of flights 1 & 3.

Similarly stick to the same routines around eating, sleeping, etc. For example, we still read a story and sing a lullaby before sleeping on the flight.

Window seats rule. They make both entertaining & napping so much easier. Did someone say "I spy"?

If possible schedule layover breaks of  2.5-3 hours each--just enough time to eat, play, and stretch.
