Travel Tips: How To Travel With Kids Without Checking In Any Luggage

When we travel we prefer not to check in any luggage because of the freedom (and peace of mind) that comes with carrying on your belongings.

Make sure every ticketed passenger has a backpack and a rolling luggage that meets the airline's maximum dimensions.

Book accommodations with access to laundry facilities  so that you really only need to pack for five day stretches.

In order to bring over our favorite diapers for Neruda (and to reserve space for bringing back coveted souvenirs, I challenged myself to fit everything for each child in one half of their carry-on luggage.

Now a list of what each of our boys brought in their carry-on luggages.

- 3 pairs of pants, folded  - 2 pairs of pajamas, 1 rolled and 1 worn for travel

- 5 pairs of underwear & 5 pairs of socks (stored in this zippered divider).

Rolled up to save space: - 1 long sleeve button-down  - 2 t-shirts - 3 long sleeve shirts - 3 pairs of board shorts

I love the space-saving compression features of the Monos Carry-On!

Since the girls' clothes are smaller I was able to fit both of their wardrobes in one half of one carry-on luggage.

For each of them I packed at least five complete outfits --dresses, tops, and leggings that could be mixed and matched.
